Most of us have already heard the heartbreaking news that the Beastie Boys have had to cancel their ACL appearance after Adam “MCA” Yauch was diagnosed with cancer. Lilly Allen was also reported to have dropped around the same time. Now we face a new disappointment: the loss of Sonic Youth.
Joe Gross from Austin360.com writes, "Sonic Youth is canceling its upcoming tour dates because guitarist Lee Ranaldo fractured his wrist. Also, Marva Wright, “The Blues Queen of New Orleans,” recently suffered a stroke and will not play her set. Fortunately, one of my favorite bands, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, have agreed to play in the Beastie Boys' Friday night slot. Unfortunately for me, this means they're playing at the same time as Kings of Leon. Life is just full of difficult decisions...
